I was having a little conversation with a friend of mine via Facebook chat today…

He was asking about my training and diet.

He was a bit shocked when I told him I was sitting at 200lbs even.

He has seen me weigh everywhere from 180 when i first started to up to 240lbs when I was actively doing strongman.

So for me to be back at 200lbs is kinda a shock.

Of course he then interjected a few skinny guy comments but hey what are friends for :).

Truth is though…

I didn’t really care what he thought.

I decided about 26 weeks ago I wanted to get as leaner then I have ever been in my life.

I started a weight of around 225…

I can assume around 25% bodyfat.

I hired a nutrition coach.

And stuck with nothing more then Jim Wendlers 5,3,1, program.

I was also doing the boring but big assistance exercises after my main strength lifts.

(Google that to learn more about it)

Either way…

I dropped to 210 pretty quick.

Then 205 took a bit of struggle…

Then I started packing on mass again.

I jumped back to 215 and felt puffy again.

So 3 weeks ago I decided to jump back on my goo friend Rusty Moores program.

So i talked to him on the phone and said just stick to Phase 3 for 6 weeks.

I also lowered my calories from 2700 to 2300.

The results in 3 weeks have been crazy.

I am 200lbs even and looking better then I ever have.

Mentally this has been a little challenging.

I was very attached to being 210lbs .

So being under 200 is kinda a mind fuck.

But either way I am aiming for a 190lbs and 10% body fat.

If you are setting out to get to this level of body fat…

I gotta tell ya..

It is hard work.

You will face a ton of challenges.

Most will be within yourself.

Some will be outside haters that just don’t want to see you do it.

Either way..

Get a goal…

And stick to it.

Learn about dieting…

I follow IIFYM (if It Fits Your Macros) and intermittent fasting.

But it really doesn’t matter.

That is just what works for me.

Pick a solid program to follow.

I really like Visual Impact by Rusty Moore.

Pick something and stick with it.

I am almost 30 weeks in and have no sign of slowing down.

So go kick some ass in the gym today.
