So I am gonna just put some food for thought out there
and this is no way scientific…
But I can tell you from my own experience doing slow
cardio has actually help increase my testosterone.
Now I know this goes against every so called expert
out there but here me out.
For me the last 6 or so years of my training has been Intense
I have done heavy strongman…
I have followed a westside based program…
I have done crossfit…
The list is endless.
Now one thing I have noticed since I stopped doing those
and instead started following a 5 day split and walking
morning cardio is…
Every morning I wake up with my flag at full mast.
I am sure all the guys know what I am talking about :).
Truth is until I started doing this type of training that wasn’t
always the case.
So this leads me to believe that this type of training
has been getting my hormones back in check.
I can only assume that before I was doing way too much.
Most likely I was highly overtrained.
I was also extremely stressed out with my business and
just regular day to day life.
Most people forget that all these thongs take a factor in your
bodies ability to recover.
So I urge you to take a look at what types of stressors are
going on in your life…
Think about it like this…
If you just had a kid, are only sleeping 2 hours per night, and
fighting with your wife daily.
This is not the time to embark on a 5 day a week routine
that combines crossfit with high intensity interval cardio.
That will do more harm then good I can assure you.
So if your wondering what direction to take from here.
I suggest cutting out the High Intensity Stuff.
Try a 3 day week upper, lower, upper and mix in 2-3 days
of incline walking cardio.
This can be done in the morning on empty stomach or after
your weight training workout.
Give it a shot.
I am sure your hormones will thank you.
P.S. Rusty Moore’s Visual Impact is a really good program
to follow if you are trying a routine like this
